A Soliloquy of Boldness

In studying John 7:25-36 for small group next week, I came across a prophecy in Isaiah that speaks about the boldness that the Messiah will have when He comes. It is to be understood as a "messianic soliloquy" that removes a depiction of Christ as frail, weak, congenial, and pacifistic. It is taken from Isaiah 50:7-9:

For the Lord God helps Me,
Therefore, I am not disgraced;
Therefore, I have set My face like flint,
And I know that I will not be ashamed.
He who vindicates Me is near;
Who will contend with Me?
Let us stand up to each other;
Who has a case against Me?
Let him draw near to Me.
Behold, the Lord God helps Me;
Who is he who condmens Me?
Behold, they will all wear out like a garment;
The moth will eat them.
